SANDBRIDGE — Seagulls, grackles and a few other birds joined people at Sandbridge beach on a recent warm Sunday that made for a relatively populated beach.
There were gulls of different types and ages, some begging for food from people, some searching the surf, calling out to nearby birds or simply opening their beaks without a sound while staring at a camera or taking interest in a dead fish.
The fish was mostly pecked apart by birds even when the surf pushed it around and, if briefly, out of their reach.
