THE INDEPENDENT NEWS

Ed. — The Independent News submitted questions to candidates seeking party nominations for Virginia General Assembly seats that are within or include parts of Virginia Beach. Responses appear on pages at the links listed below.

Our newspaper does not make political endorsements, and these questions are unrelated to political advertising in the print edition. We offer voter guides to help citizens make their own decisions and let candidates speak in their own words, especially as we prepare to elect a new legislature using new districts.

Answers generally are not edited by us, aside from some minor grammar or style issues. Candidates appear in the order in which their names appear on the ballot.
