CREEDS — Crystal Fields of Hampton was among the people who gathered at the Senior Resource Center, Inc., on Monday, Aug. 21, to view the solar eclipse.
People used special glasses, a pinhole image from one piece of paper to another and even a welding helmet. Fields went with the glasses.
“It’s gorgeous,” she said. “It’s beautiful. You can amost see the moon separate from the sun.”
DeAnna VanDerziel of Virginia Beach was driving south on Princess Anne Road with her fiancé when they saw the sign advertising the gathering outside the center and stopped.
That meants they were able to borrow glasses to watch the eclipse — and enjoy another benefit of events at the center in Creeds.
“They fed us.”
