COURTHOUSE – Road work that began on Indian River Road this past week is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, Sept. 1, and the work generally will be done overnight, according to city public works.

The work in the road improvement project includes milling, paving and pavement marking, according to a statement released earlier this month.

Work will be done as weather allows between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., though citizens are urged to take alternate routes when they can do so and to look for lane closure or warning signs.

Crews will work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. when daytime work is needed, according to the statement, and any weekend work would be completed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The road improvement work was scheduled to begin at Speed Fentress Bridge and Indian River Road and continue to North Landing Road.
