TOWN CENTER — Town Center City Club is a private club that caters to businesspeople, offering a quiet place to meet and dine, but its arms are open to all who support work by local artists.

The club’s art collection is open to the members of the public on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays or by appointment, and all of the work is available for sale.

The club takes a small commission to put toward its charitable work.

Its collection includes photography, paintings and glasswork by a number of well-known local artists, all part of an evolving display overseen by Jan Di Giovanni, the club’s gallery coordinator.

“It’s pretty, it’s interesting, and I think it adds to our club,” said Barbara Lewis, president of Town Center City Club and a longtime supporter of the arts, regarding the showcase for local works.

“Artists need a place,” she added.

“These are all well-known, established artists on the walls,” Di Giovanni added. “We would love to have the public come in.”

The public is welcome to view the Town Center City Club collection from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or by appointment. Reach Di Giovanni at (757) 241-0666 from more information about the gallery. For information about the club, visit its website at towncentercityclub.com.
