Pungo: Temporary closure coming to Muddy Creek Road on Nov. 30

PUNGO — Muddy Creek Road is scheduled to be closed between Indian River and Charity Neck roads during the day starting on Monday, Nov. 30, due to a drainage culvert replacement project to improve storm drainage flow in the area, which is west of Blue Pete’s.

The project is scheduled to conclude in February.

Traffic will detour to Pleasant Ridge Road and north to Charity Neck Road, then back to Muddy Creek Road, according to a statement released by the city public works department. 

There are three phases for the project, which the city defined in its statement: 

Daytime road closures are scheduled to last from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 through Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, and then again from Monday, Dec. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. 

The road is scheduled to be completely closed, 24-seven, between Monday, Jan. 4, through Friday, Feb. 12. 

The daytime only road closures return, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Monday, Feb. 15, through Friday, Feb. 19, and then again on Wednesday, Feb. 24, through Friday, Feb. 26. 

Signs will be posted advertising alternate routes, according to public works.
