Honorary dignitaries named for Pungo Strawberry Festival

THE INDEPENDENT NEWS

PUNGO  The dignitaries for this year’s Pungo Strawberry Festival were named Thursday during the gathering of supporters and past dignitaries that precedes the festival itself, which takes place over Memorial Day weekend.

The year’s event on May 23-24 is expected to bring 150,000 people to Pungo.

The dignitaries are:
